Four Coffee Shops to Work Remote From in San Diego

Have a laptop, will travel. If you have the luxury of being able to find a comfortable place where you can simultaneously work, drink great coffee and eat some tasty food, you’re in the right place. I’m sharing four must-see San Diego cafes that offer fine quality coffee, good food options, and a WiFi password.

  • Communal Coffee (South Park): Seeking an inspirational environment to work remote? This is it. The outdoor coffee oasis is not only super cute, but it also serves as a great escape from the traditional working space area. From the communal and two-person tables to the designated creative “workspace” (see above image), a full functioning coffee bar housed in a vintage 1959 Shasta travel trailer, and a menu complete with light bites and pastries, this location has everything that you need to caffeinate and accelerate on your work. Don’t worry, you can thank me later.
  • Moniker General (Liberty Station): Moniker General is a concept retail and community space that introduces lifestyle, home goods, custom furniture, craft coffee and cocktails, beer and wine all in one, unified space. A.K.A it’s the perfect place to work and then play. Go to happy hour? Not here. You can have happy hour come to you (at your table, that is). The space is full of good vibes; from the hardworking, young professionals to the bumpin’ background music, a menu of small bites and overall open, indoor/outdoor design.
  • Better Buzz Coffee Roasters (Hillcrest): Better Buzz is loved throughout San Diego, (across 8 locations) for its beautifully rustic yet modern decor, tasty brews and delicious, homemade breakfast and pastry items. So if you want to have a meeting, tackle some work, or enjoy some good pastries and coffee, this pretty, two-story setting is the spot for you.
  • The Grounds Bean Bar (Crown Point): This place puts the pretty in pretty productive. The Grounds Bean Bar is a picture-perfect (literally) coffee shop. The cafe serves up tropical wallpaper, living greenery, a super cute black-and-white tiled coffee bar and some tasty nitro brews, turmeric lattes and avocado toast that serve as a real treat.
