#SweaterWeather

Colder weather can make it tough on motivating yourself to do just about anything in the winter months - unless you’re skiing or snowboarding. But, there is a gold lining to the biting weather of winter - and that lining happens to be wool, cashmere, and/or fleece. #SweaterWeather.

The thought that there's a single piece of clothing that's comfy enough to slouch on our couch in and cool enough to be a dressed-up part of our daily uniform is a downright blessing! Like a big cuddle or taking your warm, fuzzy throw to work, the right cardigan or crewneck can get you through the inevitable seasonal cold, netflix and chill and all of your colder (or cooler - socal, I'm looking at you) month adventures.

Cozy, cuddly and chic, a sweater is one staple you’re bound to get wrapped up in. And, lucky for you, there’s a fashion forward style that fits any and every occasion. Whether it's big and bold, fitted, oversized, chunky, the traditional turtleneck, or a neutral cardy like my Free People one below, a sweater has got you covered (literally!).

As a New York native living in sunny San Diego, I'm still trying to navigate the "seasonal" dress. While temperatures do drop to cooler (socal) temperatures, it's not as drastic as the bone-chilling streets of a winter day or night in New York City. What I have found works best is layering and, this time, it's not to avoid becoming frost bitten, but to manage a healthy balance of warm sunshine and a cooler ocean breeze. Such problems, right?

So as you can imagine my layering technique is the good ole' sweater - hence the reason for this article. It's the perfect pair for your favorite cut off shorts or jeans, it looks great layered over a tank or tee and you can wear it with sandals, sneakers or platforms. You can even tie it around your waist for a relaxed and refined look. For my socal-ers, it's what I like to call a piece you can take from "beach to (nighttime) chic!" And, for my fellow New Yorkers, it's essential for your winter survival.

Here, I'm sharing a few of my favorite brands and styles.

So I want to know, what's your favorite sweater and which way do you wear it? Comment in the box below!
